I made this Tunisian block for the Tunisian Afghan CAL on Ravelry. I used the stitch pattern in 101 Easy Tunisian Stitches, Stitch #23.
Materials:
J Tunisian hook
1 skein I love this yarn or other WW in your choice of color.
My block came out to 14 inches adjust your size by chaining in multiples of 3 plus 1 to the desired length.
Ch 52
ROW 1
Pull up loop in second ch from hook and in every ch across.
Work off loops,
YO, pull through first 2 loops on hook (half shell made), (ch 2, yo, pull through 4 loops on hook -full shell and ch 3 space made.) repeat across to last 3 loops on hook, ch 2, yo, pull through last 3 loops on hook. (last half shell made)
ROW 2
Ch 1, (*pull up loop in next ch, insert hook in both strands of beginning ch on row 1 between shells, yo, pull up long loop, ch 1, skip next ch on working row behind stitch just made*, pull up loop in next ch, skip next shell) across to last ch sp and half shell. Repeat from * to *, skip next ch, pull up loop in horizontal strand at top of last half shell.
Work loops off,
YO, pull through one loop on hook, yo, pull through 3 loops on hook, (ch 2, yo, pull through 4 loops on hook) across to last 2 loops on hook, ch 1, yo, pull through last 2 loops on hook.
ROW 3
Ch 1, skip first vertical bar, pull up loop in next ch, (skip next shell, pull up loop in next ch, insert hook in two strands of horizontal bar at top of the next shell on row before last, yo, pull up long loop, ch 1, skip next ch on working row behind stitch just made, pull up loop in next ch) across to last half shell and vertical bar, pull up loop in horizontal bar at top of next half shell, pull up loop in last vertical bar.
Work loops off,
yo, pull through 2 loops on hook, (ch 2, yo, pull through 4 loops on hook) across to last 3 loops on hook, ch 2, yo, pull through last 3 loops on hook.
ROW 4
Ch 1, (*pull up loop in next ch, insert hook in both strands of horizontal bar at top of next shell on row worked before, yo, pull up long loop, ch1, skip next ch on working row behind st just made*, pull up loop in next ch, skip next shell) across to last ch space and half shell: repeat from * to *, skip next ch, pull up loop in horizontal strand at top of last half shell.
Work loops off,
yo, pull through one loop on hook, yo, pull through 3 loops on hook, (ch 2, yo, pull through 4 loops on hook) across to last 2 loops on hook, ch 1, yo, pull through last 2 loops on hook.
Repeat Row 3 and 4 alternately to desired size. End pattern with row 3. Mine came out to 46 rows to get to 14 inches.
Cast off.
ch1, *(insert hook in next ch, yo, pull through 2 loops on hook (slip stitch), insert hook in both strands of horizontal bar at top of next shell on last row worked, yo, pull up long loop, yo, pull through both loops on hook, skip next ch on last row behind stitch just made), sl st in next ch, skip next shell, repeat from * across to last ch sp and half shell, repeat between (), skip next ch, sl st in horizontal strand at top of last half shell.
Fasten off.
Beautiful pattern but the directions are very hard to follow, and need more clarity.
