Blended Baby Round Ripple

Mostly this is a technique more than a pattern. Just take your favorite Round Ripple pattern and baby yarn in the colors you want for baby.
Here is a few links to some of my favorite Round Ripple patterns out there.

Lyn's Round Ripple

Pick from one of these great patterns or use your favorite.

I used a real light weight baby yarn in a green and lavender. Any colors in the same family like reds and oranges, yellows and oranges, blues and greens etc... are great in this technique.

I started the pattern with 2 strands of the green doing about a third of the total rows I want in the round ripple.  I like to do the same amount of rows for each color change. I just like the look but it's really up to you.
When your ready to start blending drop one strand of the green and pick up a strand of the lavender. Do the amount of rows you want with that and then to change colors you'll drop the green and pick up another strand of the lavender and continue on with 2 strands of lavender.

You can do however many color changes you want and make it as big or little as you want it's all up to you.

This also works in a Granny Square pattern too. I did this bedspread for my Mother In Law a couple years back. As you can see there are no rules to the color combos. :) see my post on my Blended Granny Lapghan for directions on this kind of blending.

Tulip baby quilt

I used the Tulip pattern of quilts to make this baby quilt. This is a graph of the squares I used to make this.

Materials:
Hook H
Yarn Bernat softee baby
1 skein white
1 skein pink
1 skein lavendar

Solid squares,

ch 4, sl st into first ch to make a ring.

Round 1: Ch 3, 2 dc in ring, (ch 1, 3 dc) 3 times ch 1 join with sl st in 3rd ch of beginning chain. turn.

Round 2: sl st in ch 1 space, ch 3, 2 dc, ch 1, in same ch 1 space as sl st. *3 dc ch 1, 3 dc, ch 1 in next ch 1 space,* corner made. repeat from * to * 2 more times, 3 dc in same space as beginning 3 dc's. join with a sc to the 3rd ch of beg. ch. finish off leaving a long tail for sewing.

Bi-Color squares.
with 1st color ch 4, sl st into first ch to form a ring.
Round 1: ch 3, 2 dc in ring, ch 1, 3 dc changing color on the 3rd dc. with new color on ch 1, 3dc, ch 1, 3dc join to 3rd ch of beg. ch. Turn.

Round 2: sl st in ch 1 space, ch 3, 2dc, ch 1 , in same space. in next ch 1 space 3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc, ch 1, 3 dc in next ch 1 space changing color to the 1st color used in the 3rd dc. Ch 1, 3dc, ch 1 in same space as color change. 3 dc, ch 1, 3dc in next ch 1 sp. finish with 3dc in same space as the beginning 3dc, sc into 3rd ch of beg. ch 3. finish off leaving a long tail for sewing.

To measure the tail for sewing I wrap the yarn around the square top to bottom twice and cut an inch above the square. Use this tail to sew the squares together in a row. It cuts down on the amount of tails to weave in :)

Sew together in BLO to get that quilted look.
